Our History
Ontario Plastics was founded in 1945 by Richard L. Hayes in Rochester, NY and has grown to serve national and international customers from diverse industries, including: electronics, aerospace and defense, agriculture, photonics, and medical.

| 1950s | Molded RT French Co. Hot Dan mustard spoons, Rochester Savings Bank replica banks, and Paula Sue & Howdy Doody Dolls |
| 1960s | Established the Plastic Box Line of products |
| 1970s | Leo J. Hayes and Michael J. Hayes (2nd generation) assumed control |
| 1980s | Significant investments made to upgrade injection molding equipment and the electric power supply |
| 1990s | Ownership transferred to the third generation. Recognized for many contributions to the Rochester Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers |
| 2001 | Achieved ISO 9001-2000 certification from BVQI. New calibration and SPC software installed |
| 2002 | Awarded Eastman Kodak "Certified Supplier" status (first injection molder to be recognized) after previous "Valued Supplier", "Silver Supplier", and "Gold Supplier" awards |
| 2006 | New ERP System installed: IQMS Enterprise IQ |
| 2011 | Significant upgrades made to the water cooling system, including installation of a new BAC Cooling Tower and electronic controls |
| 2014 | All key molding technicians trained in Scientific Molding |
| 2015 | Significant capacity and capability upgrades made to the Value-Added (Secondary Ops) Department |
| 2016 | Recertified to ISO 9001: 2015 from Bureau Veritas |
| 2018 | Designed and installed a fully integrated Sumitomo Demag Electric IMM with a Singulation Conveyor System and Keyence In-Process Inspection Camera to 100% automate high volume production parts from three 16-cavity molds |
| 2020 | Purchased and installed Keyence Corp XM-1600 Handheld CMM to perform FAI's and in-process inspections |
| 2021 | Awarded "Outstanding Quality Supplier of the Year" award from a key international customer |
| 2022 | Purchased and installed a new High Efficiency, Variable Speed, Sullair Compressed Air System with Dryer and large capacity tank |
| 2023 | Upgraded DELMIAWorks/IQMS ERP System to v2022. and upgraded all server hardware to support the new software requirements |
| 2024 | Ownership transitioned to a "4th Generation" - OP's first non-family privately held owner. |
